Fitbit Update: 2/6
Fitbit OS 4.1.1 (Firmware Version: 35.70.7.21) for VERSA 2 smartwatches has been released to 100% of users. If you haven't yet, please make sure you update your watch to this new firmware.
If you recently purchased or set up your Versa 2, you might not see this firmware available to you yet. Continue syncing the watch and in a few days or less, you'll be prompted to update to this firmware.
Fitbit Update: 1/31
Hi, Versa 2 users!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1.1 (Firmware Version: 35.70.7.21) exclusively for Versa 2 Smartwatches.
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes the following:
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa 2 can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa 2, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips. If you have any issues after completing the update, when in doubt, try a restart on the watch.
How to restart your watch:
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

> @hucmuc, thanks for the information. Just to confirm, have you seen this type of delay on the rest of your stats, such as steps, distance or floors? Since your post didn't mention, please try restarting your Versa 2 to correct any misbehavior and make sure to wear it as described here. Let me know if that helps.
I restarted it yesterday and I still had issue. I was running and it shot up to 205 for a couple of minutes before resuming back to 150 (never seen it that high before). I doubt my HR was 205. Then, while I was driving it shot up to 110 HR but went back to 75 a minute later (I timed my HR manually and it was about 78). I never had these issues before the firmware update but of course I may have not noticed it before. I never had these issues with my Charge 2.
The positioning of the watch is real awkward for me and that is probably the issue. If I have it positioned for 2 fingers above the wrist bone for exercise then it will slide down. I would have to have super tight in order for it to not slide. When I don't exercise, the edge of the watch is just above the wrist bone and it is comfortable. Any looser, it goes on the wrist bone.

Hi there - since the update my Versa 2 won’t sync with my Pixel 2xl. I did all the usual things, and in the end the only thing that would work was re-pairing it as a new device. no problems with my iPad, so I’m guessing it’s a problem with the latest Version of Android? It keeps happening every day. I assume you’re aware of this?

Has anyone reported their screen acting "buggy" since the update??
My screen hasn't been responding to touch. I have restarted my Versa2 MULTIPLE times (at least 3 times yesterday) & I even tried a factory reset to see if it would fix it. None of these things have worked.

Hi everyone. It's great to seeing you here in this thread and a warm welcome to our new friends. I'm sorry for the delay and let me continue helping you.
@Jackie867 and @CourtneyS_78, thanks for bringing these details to my attention as well for the steps tried on your own. While checking your details I noticed that you've created a case with the Support team who were providing you with assistance. Since they're handling their case, let me suggest to keep working with them.
@hucmuc, thanks for getting back with the requested information, as well for sharing more details about this matter. Since the heart rate seems delayed on your watch, please try one more time to turn Off the heart rate function within your Versa 2 settings, restarting its, turn back On the heart rate function and wear it on your other wrist to monitor its behavior.
@sawan25, thanks for stopping by to help our friends.
@NadineMel, I appreciate your efforts while troubleshooting your Versa. Since your case is on our team's hands, please keep working with them so you can receive further assistance.
I'll be around, keep me posted.

Me too. I workout every day and I know what my heart rate is. I bluetooth my heart rate to an iPad so I can see it across my gym. It seems to be erratic and about 30bpm low.
I do not know if this is a heart rate monitor or a random number generator.
UPDATE: read advice to turn off heart rate monitor, restart Versa 2, turn on heart rate monitor again. I am hoping for the best...
UPDATE#2: No - no help. I am guessing that the new firmware takes an average of heart rates over a set period of time instead of instantaneous readings. When I workout, I want to know exactly what is happening at that moment. How about this can be set as a preference?

After different attempts, I finally factory reset my versa 2 and hoped that helps to download the latest firmware. But instead the update to my versa 2 is 35.68.9.12. I asked Fitbit chat support why is that so. They said 35.70.7.21 is still rolled out progressively. The message from yourself and chat support are different. And worse my versa 2 is now 2 release back. Please shed some light.

Hi Lizzy,
Thank you for your response.
I originally had the “myMoon clock” clock face. I am now using the Fitbit “business” clock face.
I have restarted my watch several times since I changed the clock face and I’m still having the water log problems.
I’m pretty sure I only started having the water log problems since the new Fitbit update, but I can’t be sure.
The update I have on my phone is Firmware Version 35.70.7.21. I have also checked my watch and the version is 35.70.7.21. My phone is a Samsung S10.
I also have problems with the GPS not working properly during a run. Sometimes the GPS doesn’t work at all and other times it might start working at around the 2km mark, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks for your help

My `Versa 2` is still having notifications not clearing with `35.70.7.21`
It could be solved if and only if rebooting.
IMHO, this is not a good solution, please correct it.

I have the same problem. Been with support for the past week and now submitted a video to describe the problem. Looks like the firmware is broken. To workaround it, i used "always on display" after restarting the phone. The downside is I need to keep charging my watch as the battery drains to 60% by the end of the day and would barely make it through the next day. This firmware is broken.

Did they tell you if you're getting a brand new model or of it's going to be refurbished??

The Support Team's solution for me was to send my device back to them and have a new device sent to me. I just got my prepaid shipping label in my email.

Mine was ordered in December and I started using it around 4-5 weeks ago if memory serves right. They are reviewing the video. Strangely support claims they could not access the dropbox link video i sent. So i uploaded it to youtube and sent them the youtube link. I did this just 3 hours ago. Hopefully they will get back to me today.

Same here. It’s frustrating since it won’t let you swipe up or left or anything - it freezes on the clock screen and then you have to restart it but then it happens again multiple times in the day. Battery also drains so much quicker, like after 1 or 2 days you have to recharge it since after the firmware update. I doubt it’s just the watch issue, since 2 of my family members experience the same thing with their versas.

Ever since installing this update, my clock runs slow. Within a few hours of syncing watch to phone, I have lost at least 10-15 minutes! I have tried restarting my watch, but that didn’t fix the issue...any suggestions????
