Got my truck driver husband a new Fitbit Versa for his birthday last week. It has been giving him over 25,000 steps everyday and a lot of floors climbed! Come on, now, I know he doesn't do that many steps and getting up and down out of the truck is definitely not that many flights of stairs!
I've already read the other threads about a DriveBit app, but that is not logical for most people and definitely NOT logical for a truck driver to log in and out 20+ times a day as he drives and then gets out to deliver and check-in loads and such! There has to be an update coming to fix this!! The other thread has had posts dating back for 8 months. And the other thread also says this problem has been "solved"... It's not solved. Please tell me y'all are working on it! FITBIT, please fix this!!

The only way to eliminate the floors and steps is to manually log driving for that period of time. There is no fix for this. It is caused by the environment that he is in. The tracker has no way of knowing. Sorry.
In the tracker settings there is an option to shut down the tracker. Not optimal, but at least he wouldn't have to log in and out of an app.

@savedbygraceru Logging driving activity in your Fitbit mobile app as @SunsetRunner mentioned is a good idea after the ghost steps/floors were already recorded. You can try to minimize the number of ghost steps though by changing the Wrist Placement setting to Dominant in the Fitbit mobile app. Hope that helps.
