Versa 2 Alexa can't understand me

So I've had my device a week or so, the last 2 days alexa hasn't worked & just repeats the same message of 'I'm sorry, I can't understand you, please try again.' I have restarted it, factory reset it, logged in & out of the fitbit app & the amazon alexa app. I can use the voice reply for messages so I know the mic is working fine- I really am at a bit of a loss here 😕
