Could you please let me know if the green LEDs on your Versa 2 are blinking?
Does the watch vibrate when you plug it in to charge?
In the meantime, please, if you haven't done so try restarting your Versa 2 and have a look at this: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Same problem, fully charged, working this morning, black face and no blinking green lights.This was a replacement for another Versa 2 which did exactly the same, thinking of asking for my money back.

Update to my last message. Pressed and held the side button for more than the recommended 10 seconds several times and eventually hey presto Versa has a clock face again.
