Versa 2-Difficulties with connected GPS and MyFitnessPal

** Not pleased with the fact the moderator changed the subject title.  It was "Versa 2 after a day of use...unimpressed".

So, my Versa 1 had been acting up which prompted me to pick up a Versa 2 yesterday.  This morning I went for a 3 mile walk.  Normally I don't split the tracking, but the results of the first GPS tracking were so bad I created a new entry for an additional 1 mile walk.  Honestly, both of them (2 miles and 1 mile) were so bad and off the mark it was to the point of comedic. Once I got a confirmation "connected" message, the GPS would lose connection if I stepped two or three feet in any direction. For a full on mile of the first walk it couldn't make a connection.  I was in the open and not surrounded by buildings or trees.  A clear line of site for the signal. I made sure the watch was unobstructed and my phone was no more than six inches away from the watch.  Still, the results were staggeringly bad.

Then there's the issue of MyFitnessPal only accepting a portion of the calories burned according to Fitbit; for instance, as of this post I have burned around 620 calories between the walking and biking I did this morning.  MyFitnessPal says I've done 317.

I've given the Fitbit app on my phone "all the time" access to my location and access to physical activity.  I allow for background activity.  I've given it optimum battery access.  Basically the barn doors are open.

Unless someone can offer a suggestion, I can't see a compelling reason to keep this watch.

Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community, @kamaboko1.

Thanks for the information provided and for purchasing a new Fitbit Versa 2.

Our team is constantly working to improve our products and services. Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Currently, the latest firmware version for the Versa 2 is 35.72.1.9 as stated in this article. Please be aware that for Fitbit devices set up recently, it might be necessary to wait a couple of days to download the most recent firmware version. In the Fitbit app you will receive a notification over the next days to update.

If you continue having difficulties with MyFitnessPal, I would recommend revoking access to Fitbit and connect them once again. For instructions, please visit this article.

In addition, please make sure to follow this guide when using Connected GPS on your Fitbit device.
