Versa 2 Doesn't Turn On When I Turn My Wrist

ANSWERED

I have to double tap the screen to turn it on, I think I have dislocated my wrist trying to get the screen to turn on!

I have had a look at previous topics on this issue, but none are for the Versa 2, which only has the one button. My app has Quick View turned on.

Thanks!

Hi @RachelLauren , go to settings on your Versa 2, scroll down to "Screen Activation" and set it to Automatic (wrist movement).

Update: I did not mean the settings in the Fitbit app but the settings on your Versa 2.

@RachelLauren   I'm not sure the advice given by @SunsetRunner will help.  I am an iOS user.  If I make a change on the app (toggle the Quick View), it is reflected on the device (in the Settings -- gear -- on the device) as soon as it is synced.  I'm not sure if the Android app behaves the same way.

Is your device either in Sleep Mode or was the Do Not Disturb set inadvertently?  If you are in Sleep Mode, there is a crescent moon in the upper right.  If you set Do No Disturb, then there is a small circle with a line in it in the upper right.  Recently, a user started a thread asking about the circle.  The device was accidentally set to Do Not Disturb.

Hi @RachelLauren , I like to follow up on my first post. Did you read the updated post in which I mentioned that you have to change the screen activation to automatic in the settings of your Versa 2 and not the Fitbit app? If you did, I'm very curious wether it works now when you move your wrist. Regards kuzibri

Thank you @SunsetRunner , I hadn't changed the settings on my Versa. Feel a bit silly now, but in my defense I had only had my Versa for a few hours!

Thank you very much for your help!

@LZeeW , @SunsetRunner 's suggestion worked 🙂

I will remember your advice about sleep mode and DND though, as this is something I would do!

Thank you very much!

@RachelLauren   I want to investigate this further, because I clearly had a different experience than you. Are you an Android or iOS user?

As an iOS user, if I made a change in my phone app, it was changed in the device settings (gear) and the Quick Settings (swipe down from clock face).  No matter where I change it, it becomes correct on any of the three ways you can make this setting change.  You say you had it toggled "On" on your phone app, yet you needed to change the settings on the device (using the gear) to make it work.  This is not how this is supposed to work.

Can you please let me know what type of phone you use, because I can refer this to the engineers.

Hi @LZeeW , AFAIK the question this user asked was that her/his Versa did not wake up when moving the wrist. Changing the screen activation of the Versa is a specific feature of the Versa itself (settings - screen activation - auto/manual or quick settings and pressing the watch icon on the right side of the bottom if you have a Versa 2 and assigned the button to quick settings) and not by the Fitbit app.  Kind regards, kuzibri

@SunsetRunner   On the Versa 2 itself, you can set the Screen Wake in the Quick Settings (swipe down) and the main device Settings (gear).  On the Fitbit app, there is a toggle for Quick View.  I have repeatedly changed one of them and the others change when the device syncs.  It does not matter which one I change.  The others change with a sync.  If a user has the Quick View toggled to ON, but needs to change a device setting, then this is an issue for the engineers to investigate.

You can't assign the left button to Quick Setting since the current firmware release.  The only choices are Alexa and Fitbit Pay.

Do you mean Screen Wake ( instead of activation) ? My screen wake is greyed out with only option to press button to wake. No automatic option.

I am encountering the same issue on my 4 month old versa 2. I have tried to do what you've suggested, sync it to my phone, turn it to manual and back again. It will not work with wrist movement.

I don't have a "screen activation" setting on my Versa 2.

I found the answer.  The Screen Wake setting has to be set to Auto (motion).

On the watch, go to Settings.  Scroll to Screen Wake and set to Auto.
