I have an S8 with a Versa 2. It transmits a text properly, and I can see what the body of the text says. But my girlfriend has an S9 with a Versa 2, and it transmits, but it says "1 new message" instead of showing the body of the message (ie..."Hey, what to you want for dinner?"). It has the option of CLEAR ALL above the notification. Not a big deal, since this is just a summary of how many texts you have, and we are technically not inside the text yet.
If you tap the notification, (now we are inside the text message) it still says "1 new message", but now you have the options below, where you can choose what to do with the text: MARK AS READ, REPLY, OPEN, CLEAR. And all of those functions work. (For those reading this that don't know, the "OPEN" option is using your Versa 2 almost like a remote control to tell your phone to open the text on your phone. It is not a command to open the message on your Versa 2. So this is not the solution to my problem). So now we have an message, but it's just keeping secret what the text actually says. This is very similar to having a lock screen on a phone where it shows you have a message, but hides the content for your privacy until you go into your message. But in this situation, when you tap the message, you ARE going into the message. So it makes no sense that it still says "1 new message", and is even more ridiculous that it allows us to REPLY to this message that we can't see the content of. We also tried tapping, swiping and anything else we could think of, with the "1 new message", but it does not do anything else. You have to choose one of the 4 options below, or tap the left button to go back to previous screen.
I've looked all over for answers. The only one I haven't tried, and I don't want to, is changing the default text app to a different one. We both use Message+ and like it. And if it works on my S8, why wouldn't it work on my girlfriend's S9???
Things to note:
- Checked settings and permissions for the Fitbit app, Message+ app, and general Notification area in S9 Settings. All appears in order for allowing permissions, and pointing toward right app for notification.
- Fitbit is set to Message+ as default text
- Fitbit DOES receive emails properly from S9, AND you CAN see the content of the email.
- Fitbit, Message+, and S9 itself all have most recent updates, and we restarted the phone for good measure.

I have the same phone, and the same problem. After numerous calls to fitbit, and all of the different things they had me do to try to fix the problem they finally said that they are aware of the issue and are trying to fix it. It's super frustrating!

Quick question- do your music controls work? Because mine don't on my galaxy S8. They work for a second and then stop. Only a restart fixes this problem.

I haven't used that function yet. Ever since the last update the volume control keeps flashing on the watch.

Hmmm. I am going to return mine and my fiance's because his does the same thing. Brand new, right out of the box.

Yeah, I'm still new to it, and was going to try that option at the gym this week. So that sucks to hear that it's doing that for you 😞
Unless they are planning to get some updates soon to fix these problems, I might have to switch to another option as well...

Smart decision, I wish I never bought one. My next one is going to be a Garmin as well.

FYI, someone posted in another forum thread that this issue was solved (versa 1 rather than 2) with a new update that recently became available. I already switched devices, but I thought I'd let you know in case it works. Keep me updated on the results!
