35.80.7.14 Firmware

Heart rate monitor worse since update.

I saw update was supposed to fix HR problems but so far only made it worse for me, sleep is now showing basic results and it it way off on HR while exercising, 40-60 bpm too low, or not showing at all. I have tried all suggestions in troubleshooting post with no luck... Com on Fitbit, I'm going to be trashing this watch soon.

@BitMan5 It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your heart rate reading and sleep detection and thank you for trying the suggestions in some posts. What have you noticed about the heart rate reading on your device? Could you share some examples? Maybe screenshots of detected activities? Since I don't know what you have tried I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.

Regarding the sleep stages you might not get them for the following reasons:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Let me know how it goes.

That did help but it still has trouble at the higher heart rate zones, especially in acute time frames.
