Versa 2 Side button not "clicking"/working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Purchased my FitBit Versa 2 through Fitbit on Amazon in July 2022. Have used it for runs and swimming+ daily wear exclusively. Recently the side button stopped working. Feels like it pushes all the way in but no click sound and consequently, no response on the device. Tried letting it rundown to 0% and then charged it up but no luck. Have tried canned air+toothpick method as recommended elsewhere?

Anyone got any ideas otherwise I'll just claim the 1yr warranty it should still be in (and guidance on how to do this would be great too). Thanks in advance for any help!

HI @GeorgeBIt - if the watch is functional apart from the button there are still a few things you can do. But be aware if it has suffered water damage [over time] it may not recover fully.

From the watch Settings, About menu, you can do a full shutdown, wait at least 10 seconds before using the button to start it. This is a good test to see if the button still has a fault, otherwise place on charge a few minutes to start it.

If that doesn't work, try the factory reset in the same menu, it doesn't matter if this kills the watch as it is under warranty. Once you start the factory reset the watch should be inoperable for 5 minutes before restarting again, just wait.

Either way it is a good idea to make a note of the names of any clocks or apps you have chosen for easy re-installation later.

Contact Amazon for the warranty replacement if the steps are unsuccessful and the watch doesn't respond to the button.
