I just bought the Versa 2 last night. The Today app is only showing 3 stat options, although it says "up to 7". I have checked for an update for the Today app (nothing), I have checked for an update on the Versa 2 (up to date), I have tried restarting the device but no changes. Help!

I had the same issue at first. I can't tell you what fixed it for me though. Sorry!

I have had similar frustrations. I have 5 options checked off, not walking, which I really need. I finally discovered, no thanks to Fitbit, that if you open the Dashboard, by logging in ONLINE, you can choose out of about 15 options. Great, right? Well I did that, but-it didn't make the selected changes in the watch! Another dealbreaker-the fancy HR monitor is completely UNRELIABLE-I took an easy walk and I supposedly burned almost 1000 cals-because the HR jumps into the 120's once you start moving-although, as advised, the watch is snug against the skin, 2 finger breadths above the wrist. My true HR is in 60's to the 70's. The number being produced is a random artifact. (I am an anesthesiologist -my work literally revolves around real-time pulse monitoring). These issues, plus the poorly intuitive screen menus
will most likely result in a return😞

I'm not sure it will work for you, but someone else asked me about this very issue and I found this older thread that seemed to help some other original Fitbit Versa users: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Versa-Smartwatches/Only-Have-Three-Options-In-Today-Settings-Menu/m-...
Note: If you need to reboot your Versa 2, you'll hold the left button for 10 seconds until the fitbit logo appears (since Versa 2 doesn't have buttons on the right side, you can't follow those instructions in the thread's solution).

@walt19 I think you're referring to a different issue of customizing exercise shortcuts. I made of video of how to do this for Versa 2 and you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/NbElwqoLTjc
As for the heart rate monitor, I have the opposite problem, 9 out of 10 times it drops to the 90's when it should be in the 160's.

Thanks! That video worked perfectly for me. Re the HR, 160 is impressive! I need to research how accurate this system Fitbit has released has been shown to be. I can forgive it being inaccurate at a HR of 160, but not at 60. It would be interesting to see if you were completely still after hitting your target rate, if it suddenly corrects. Based on how they describe the capillary mechanism, I am somewhat skeptical of its accuracy. Aside from ECG(EKG), in the medical world, even bigger, expensive pulse oximeters can be fooled under certain conditions, so I probably shouldn’t expect much here.

From what I've read and experienced, the purepulse monitoring system is accurate at measuring heart rate during sleep and rest. It seems that the more intense your exertion, the higher variability there is with measurements. In other words, the harder you train the more innacurate the reading may be. This isn't unique to Fitbit though. All photoplethysmography (uses light to measure HR) systems suffer from this. There is no substitute for a chest strap monitor.

@walt19 You're welcome! I'm glad my video helped you.
How ironic you mention being still after hitting a high heart rate! I usually don't (read, never) stop and be still when my heart rate is that high, but today, I actually did to record it with my phone and compare it to my apple watch series 4 (which is 99 out of 100 times able to read my HR 160's accurately and was correctly reading this time also). 20 seconds after stopping, the Versa 2 did jump to 160 bpm! So, it did suddenly correct as you predicted!
I've had mixed accuracy with Fitbits during higher intensity workouts and it seems to depend on the type of exercise I'm doing. Walks and hikes with elevation gain where my heart rate goes above 80% of my max HR, the HR monitor often drops to 90 or 92 bpm. But on a spin bike (indoor cycling), it seems to be able to keep with the higher bpm without dropping.
Similar to @Caz29, I've found Fitbit's heart rate monitoring to be very accurate during sleep and while sedentary and even during lower intensity workouts (like walking without hills), but higher intensity is more of a mixed-bag and usually not accurate for the type of exercise and intensity I do most.
However, unlike @Caz29, I've also found that Apple's heart rate monitoring in their Apple Watch Series 4 is the most accurate of any wrist-worn heart rate monitor I've tried and so accurate that I no longer feel the need to wear a heart rate chest strap to get accurate heart rate during high intensity exercise. (I've tried all Fitbits, Apple Watch Series 3 and 4, and Garmin Fenix 3HR, Garmin Fenix 5, and Garmin Vivoactive 3).
So, if accurate heart rate is your most important requirement of a wearable, I can highly recommend the Apple Watch Series 4 (and I assume Series 5, since it has the same heart rate sensor as the 4).
Another thing I prefer about the Apple Watch over Fitbits is that Apple Watches (and Garmins) can separate out your "active calories burned" (the ones you burn specifically from exercise) from your "total calories burned" (exercise calories plus calories burned just by being alive, aka BMR or basal metabolic rate). So, your calories burned number for your exercise will always be essentially over-reported from Fitbit.

@Caz29 agree with one exception - PolarOH1 sensor which is as accurate as a chest strap but it isn't wrist worn (and probably this has a good impact on the overall accuracy).

Thanks for your comprehensive contribution to this discussion. I certainly don’t need a resting HR, and I can guess-timate pretty closely by checking my own pulse without timing it.it is kind of annoying to have a feature that can’t be used, so back it goes...

I am having the same problem. Swip down and it says I can add up tp 7, but the press on settings and I am only given a list of 3 not the full list as shown in the user guide.

What worked for me was to uninstall the fitbit app on my phone, reinstall it and sync the versa 2. Went from 2 options under today to all.
