Versa 2 Touchscreen Stopped Working then Bluescreened

I have had almost zero issues with my Versa 2 until today, just over a year of having it. I noticed the touchscreen wasn’t working and it stopped showing me texts and alerts, but would vibrate and vanish as soon as I looked at it. Then the touchscreen wasn’t working at all. I was trying to get the touchscreen to work again, and it started flashing blue, and ended up going solid blue. I restarted it like I’ve seen other posts discuss, and it worked for about a minute, then started flashing blue again, and the touchscreen still doesn’t work. I didn’t hit it, there’s no damage, and the only thing I can think of is that it got wet when I washed my hands (then dried it) which shouldn’t effect it at all, anyway.

When your Fitbit app tells you the update is available, you can download it. It works fine for me on two watches, but others have a lot of issues.

I suggest not installing it for a bit. At least until you are comfortable taking the risk of bricking your watch.

Bingo. Sounds like you may have joined the club of bricked Versa 2 with the 72.1.23 update. It works fine for some of us, but for others is a disaster. Highly doubtful it is from the water as some of us use it for diving and swimming.

One thing to consider trying is letting its battery run out, then charging it to 100%.

Once powered up can the the Fitbit app see the watch? If not then it is possibly a goner. If it can try changing the watch face.

I will have to wait a couple days for it to die. Last I checked, it was at 70% and usually takes three to four full days to die. It still works and connects to my phone, so I will keep using it. Hopefully letting it die and recharging helps. Thank you.

Excellent. At least it is working for now. Sometimes just letting things completely drain, then recharge, can help with a few problems.

One thing to consider is watch faces can have a big impact on battery life and device responsiveness. I learned this from experience when I moved to a 3rd party watch face and my battery was draining daily instead of the usual 4-5 days. When I switched back to a Fitbit watch face and fully charged the watch it has been running fine since then.
