Hello. I wanted to turn off the heart tracker during the day to save some battery, but after disabling it from the settings the green lights continue blinking forever.
I found that other people have the same issue, and here https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Other-Charge-Trackers/Green-flashing-lights/td-p/2365001 it is suggested that I should restart my Fitbit 3 times in a row in case this issue happens. Well, I did exactly that, following instructions, and nothing changed, the lights kept on blinking.
As of now, disabling heart rate tracking only makes it so that the watch stops showing my heart rate on the watch face, but the green lights from the sensor blinks constantly, meaning that I won't be saving the battery at all.
I even did a factory reset and updated my firmware and all, but this issue persisted.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your questions, @Unbeknownst.
The troubleshooting steps provided in the link you shared above were suitable for Fitbit Charge 2 users, but they don't apply to Fitbit watches like Versa 2. We actually don't have much information about why the green lights continue blinking when the heart-rate is turned off, but just the fact that it was a change made to the new Fitbit devices by our engineering team.
We don't recommend turning off heart-rate to save battery life. Whether after following the recommendations shared above your watch's battery continues to drain quickly, the best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. Please click here to get connected.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Unbeknownst.
Thank you for the information provided and for the time you spent trying to resolve the situation with your Fitbit Versa 2.
In the most recent Fitbit devices the heart-rate sensor actually doesn't stop blinking even when it is turned off. This is an expected behavior. The option to turn off heart-rate will make your watch to stop displaying your heart-rate on the Versa 2 and in your Fitbit account but the green lights will continue blinking.

Hello, and thank you for taking your time to provide me an insightful answer with useful information. It is a relief to see that this is an expected behaviour.
So, the reason why people claimed that restarting your Fitbit three times in a row would make it so that the green lights would stop blinking is that the functionality was different back in 2017?
I find it difficult to understand why this change has to be made, but all I want to find out is when I turn this off and the Fitbit stops reporting the heart rate even though it still constantly records it, would that still result in some minimal battery life gain?
Thanks.

I think I should make myself more clear: What purpose does deactivating heart rate reporting serves if the sensors would keep recording the data but only mask the results from the watch/face and the app? Why would anyone want to turn off this option other than to save some battery if the sensors would keep on blinking and wasting resources anyway? Can you provide some insight behind the reasoning of this very unusual behaviour? Thank you.
