hi there,  I was just doing my exercise and wanted to see when I reached 30 mimutes and I noticed that the active minutes has now changed to zone minutes. I don't like this and would like it togo back to the active minutes?  Plus, I did a really excessive workout yesterday and it's showing 0 zone minutes, even though I am synced....not happy...CAN I SWITCH IT BACK?

Mine looks the exact same! I had over 120 active minutes today and now they're all gone. My workout and my walk now show 100% in below zones, despite the heart rate data obviously indicating otherwise. I've looked through this entire thread and haven't found any answers 😐

I updated my Versa 2 two days ago and it actually erased my active minutes from that day and replaced with zero active zone minutes. Hate the update. I got three active zone minutes today just from being in the grocery store but none from 20 minute treadmill walk. So obviously this is update wasn’t well thought out.

100% agree. This is a terrible update. Why not give the choice between Zone and Active minutes?

Best Answer

The same happened to me! No suggestions so far on how to fix it although not for want of asking.

at least it seems to record active zone minutes correctly after the update - it’s ‘just’ the day of the update they seem to get wiped for.

The same thing happened to me after a 7-mile run. When I synched, it showed my peak and cardio minutes. After the update, they were all gone, and my run was all "below zones."

I agree.  The new update is terrible. Customer service was no help. I have asthma, HBP, heart issues, and only reach the new “active zones” going up hill and out of breath. I am on meds too. I have a bad ankle and cannot “run“ unless I am on an Elliptical.  I used active minutes to gage my walk quality.  I actually did not care as much on “fat burn” or “cardio”  but did use active minutes. Before the change most all of my walk would be in fatburn.  It was a nice goal. I deleted the new active zone minutes out of my goals. They are worthless to me. I am not a super fit marathoner. Today I walked for 66 minutes and the only minutes that registered as active zone were 26 minutes uphill when I was out of breath.  I was sweating when I got home.

I am going to look for an Apple Watch next when the new one comes out.  I am done with Fitbit with this new change. New Apple Watch finally added sleep tracking.

Make it an option to switch back to active minute so I can customize my goals set by me and my Dr. The “fitness tool” should work for the user. Once it no longer works for the use, a user finds a tool that does irrespective of who makes it.

Totally agree .. If you use Fitbit you like to have targets for the day and I used active minutes .. they should advise users that they are changing

I need a way to go back to the regular activity minutes counter. The zone minutes counter is a duplicate to a function we already have on the Versa 2, it does not work and it's not the way I want to track my exercise.

On the versa 2 screen, I can go to heart rate and slide to the right to see how much time I was in a specific heart rate zone. I dont need you double counting time in certain heart rate zones. That makes no sense at all.

I'm very frustrated with you removing the activity timer function which I use on a daily basis to know my activity.

I absolutely hate the update too and want to go back to active minutes. Ran for 1.25 hours this morning (75% in the peak zone and 25% in cardio) and NOTHING after I installed the update. Super unhappy.

Update:

Yeah this is definitely not fixed. I waited until today to do the update. That was a mistake and is just building a case to switch trackers. It is now a worthless watch.

Me too! I ran for 71 minutes yesterday and did 15 minutes of aerobics and NOTHING! Then this morning it showed the middle of my run BELOW my target zone even though I was in my peak. Super annoyed and it is affecting a corporate challenge based on ACTIVE MINUTES. 😞 I am definitely not happy either. I feel your pain. I will have something different by the end of the week. I don't wear a watch; I wear a fitness tracker that has now become a useless over-priced watch.

I am getting active zone minutes in my sleep. Last night I got 32 cardio peak minutes. This is causing me some anxiety wondering why my heart is racing in my sleep. This didn’t happen the way the app was before. I’ve been in contact with support through Twitter, but they act as if the way the app used to calculate active minutes never existed.

I did an update to my firmware a couple of days ago, and all of a sudden Active Minutes as a goal has disappeared and also Active minutes do not show up anywhere. This sucks, Fitbit needs  to fix this feature.  I did a restart but that does not help.  I am trying to see if I can update again but see no reference to it anymore.  Pretty poor job.

Thanks Steve, I tap on the Zone Minutes icon in the Fitbit App. nothing happens , nada. I am sure the update did not do a  proper job. Can someone help me if I can reupdate and maybe it will work?  Or they need to fix the bug

I upgraded my versa2 yesterday with 100 active mins at that time. i got those active minutes running on my treadmill with peak and cardio heartrate   after the upgrade I suddenly had zone minutes instead of active mins. and zone was at ZERO minutes.

i. was also in an all for one challenge with 463 of 475 mins. after the uprage my challenge had me at 0% with ZERO mins. I want my active minites back. another thing.  my 3 exercises after upgrade were gone and when I tried to manually add them it didnt give me any exercises.  had me at below zone.

How do we exchange or return our watches? This update is beyond pissing me off. No clue why fitbit would do this unless they want to send is to competitors. Any number to call or suggestions on returning for not working like did. False advertisement. I will go with Samsung over keeping this worthless crap now. Up until update I loved.

Hello, I am trying to make a post and can't figure this out... I am too not happy with this zone crap.  I have been on the phone with Customer service for the past 4 days and today they said it can be reversed and the active minute feature is only on the lower end products.

Hello - know your post isnt recent but same thing happened today to me. Annoying as its the main part of the app I use to see how hard I worked . Did you solve the issue and if so how

?
