Hi, so upgraded to the new Versa two from a much older model. I tend to wear watches on my non dominant wrist as most people do however the Versa two is struggling to find my heart rate at all due to sleeve tattoos I have found complaints that this was a problem years ago with the original Versa however can’t seem to find anything recent. Has anyone else had this issue or has any suggestions to fix this. The settings and software is all up to date and the watch manages fine on non tattooed skin. It’s a very overpriced pedometer at the minute feels like a total waste.

I have full sleeves as well and it does get my heart rate from time to time but not as much as it should.

I’ve read somewhere that there’s an ap which uses a slightly different approach to analyse SP02 with red LEDs as well as the green have you tried anything like that? There also seems to be a lot of talk about epoxy stickers but that sounds like hassle. Very disappointing that there is no kind of warning that there could be issues for people with tattooed skin.... not like tattoos are uncommon these days

Honestly , I haven’t read into because it’s 2019 and I’d figure this would go into the development of the device. It would suck to have to do extra things in order for it to work properly.

I know exactly how you feel, I’m just loathe to admit defeat it’s a shame I really like the watch and it’s a nice fit for me which is rare but the main features I want aren’t going to work properly and there seems to be no pre-warnings for people before they throw money down the drain it’s highly annoying. Might have to do a bit of digging and see if there’s a better alternative doesn’t seem like Fitbit have tried to address the situation since it was first raised a few years ago 😒
