Versa 2 and app showing different distance

I just got a Versa 2 and the total mileage displayed on my tracker is different than what is displayed on the fitbit app.  The number of steps have synced and are the same for my versa 2 and the app.  The mileage displayed on my Versa 2 seems to way to high.  The App mileage seems accurate.  Why are they different?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that the information that's displayed on your Versa 2 are completely different than the one that's synchronized. To better assist you with this, can you please be so kind to let me know which mobile device are you using to check the Fitbit app? When was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? Only distance is being affected or other stats too? If you haven't already done so, please restart your Versa 2 following the next steps:

 

  1. For Fitbit Versa 2, hold the back button for 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

I am having the same problem. It happens every single time I run. For example, today my Versa 2 said I ran 3.12 miles, but then it pushed through to the Fitbit app (and Strava) at 3.06. I my phone is a Samsung Galaxy J7. I have tried turning both the Fitbit and phone on and off, sync and unsync, pair and unpair, unistall and reinstall.
