I have treated myself to the versa 2 and I decided to download deezer and buy some Bluetooth headphones.. Well I wish I hadn't! The quality is terrible, the sound is distorted and I cannot listen to it. Now looking at other threads this issue was brought to with the iconic with no real answers given. Is anyone else having issues and if so did you manage to resolve them? I have already done all of the usual suggestions, reset Versa, check the Bluetooth isn't connected to phone at the same time. I don't want to have to spend over £100 on fitbit headphones, for a risk of them doing exactly the same thing. I'm so angry at spending £200 for something not to work!

JessB63, I am having similar issues with my bluetooth headphones (ear buds specifically) and Versa 2. I bought JBL Endurance Peak headphones and connected them to my Versa 2. Using the Pandora app, the Versa 2 plays music to the ear buds, but only the right side ear bud works (the right ear bud is the main ear bud). Sound plays out of both ear buds for about half a second and then the sound in the left ear bud stops completely. If I pause the music and then pIay it again, I get the same issue: left ear bud plays for about half a second and then stops. I deleted the connection in the Versa 2 bluetooth settings, reconnected them again and it happened again. No other bluetooth devices were on when I connected the ear buds to the Versa 2. I then tried connecting my ear buds to my phone to check to see if the ear buds were bad. They were not. Using the Pandora app on my phone, the sound played in both ear buds with no issue (phone uses an Android operating system). I am not sure if there is a setting in the Versa 2 that makes the sound only play out of one ear bud. If there is a fix solution to this, I would really like somebody to post the solution.

This is still an issue. I've just purchased a Versa 2, and transferred music directly to the Versa 2 through the PC application. The music still sounds absolutely terrible and is very distorted and crackly.

Might need to check whether your headphones are Bluetooth 5.0 or 4.0. Versa 2 is 4.0, so 5.0 frequency will have trouble connecting.

I had this issue with my original Versa SE. Fitbit never resolved it. Annoyed me greatly. Today I woke up and my versa SE screen wouldn't work so I returned it to where I got it and they exchanged it for a versa 2 because they only had versa 2 not the original and once again same issue. I can't believe that fitbit are still selling devices that they know have very poor bluetooth connectivity without even attempting to fix it.
These bluetooth headphones work perfectly fine with the previous two phones i've had and current phone. they work with various other devices. why is it ONLY the fitbit versa that have an issue with this distortion?

I wish I had seen this thread before I purchased the Versa 2. My Gear Icon X 2018 buds work perfectly with every other device except The Versa 2. What's even worse is that Fitbit knows of these issues and have not addressed a fix or acceptable earbuds to use with the device.

I ran into the same issues with my Skull Candy Bluetooth 5.0 headphones. I just purchased some Anker Soundbuds Surge (Bluetooth 4.1) earbuds and they work flawlessly with my Versa 2. Decent sound and stay in my ears for runs at a price of CDN $30.
