Versa 2 battery life draining when turned off

Hi, I recently purchased a Fitbit versa 2

I only use it it while I am at work and then I switch it off for the rest of the time.

I think the rate at which the battery drains while turned on is completely acceptable.

However, I turned my Fitbit versa 2 off ('shut down') on Thursday on 56%, when I turned it on on Sunday, the battery had died.

Then today I had 96% battery left, I turned off the versa 2. 8 hours later I turned it on and I had lost 7%.

I don't quite understand how this is possible. How can I prevent this from happening?

Hi @reason17, welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that the battery of your Versa 2 is depleting when you turn your device off. Let me share with you that the battery of our Versa 2 was designed to last 5 days, but this also depends on how frequently you use all the features of your device. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much.

After following the above information, please check this help article for more tips and recommendations. This article includes a restart process that will refresh the device's performance.

Let me know if further assistance is needed and if you have any additional questions.

Mine has the same issue. I’ve tried to figure it out. Do you use the “always on” clock face feature? What I’ve discovered is that the battery drains rapidly when in shutdown mode if I have the “always on” feature selected before shutting down. Now when I’m going to shut my Versa 2 off I turn off the  “always on” clock face feature and change to a Fitbit clock face before shutting down. This seems to have solved my rapid battery drain when the Versa 2 is in shutdown mode issue.  The Versa 2 barely loses any battery when shutdown now. I hope this helps.
