Versa 2 battery life not lasting

I got my Versa 2 for Christmas.  After being a Fitbit user for years, I have pretty high expectations.  Overall, it's been ok, but I find that a lot of the cool features just drain the battery, so I don't use them.  The last few weeks, I've noticed that I need to charge it every day or the battery dies.  I reached out to Fitbit support and had a very disappointing experience.  They sent the link that shows ways to help improve battery life.  I already do many of those, so what's the point?  The battery on the Versa 2 has never lasted the 6+ days listed on their website (must be what all that is for). They also told me to charge it, let it drain and then contact them again.  Uh...isn't that why I reached out in the first place?  Anyone else have this happen recently and have a fix?  Or should I just bite the bullet and go to the dark side and get an Apple watch?  TIA!
