Versa 2 battery not hold the charge

I've owned fitbit's since they first came out.  Just got the Versa2 last Sun, and I've had to charge it twice because the battery went dead.  What was this 5 days, 6 days?  I'll be returning this.   How about we tell the truth on the battery life?  And no, I don't have any apps connected to it.

Hi there @jack758, welcome to the Community Forums. I apologize for the late response. I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation. Thanks for making sure that your Versa 2 is not using any apps that might be draining the battery quicker.

Please note that our main purpose is to avoid negative experiences to our customers, we're always willing to help and provide troubleshooting steps. Then, if the tracker is deemed defective we review eligibility using the one year warranty option.

Additionally, our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can.

As per the description, it seems that it has insufficient power source. Where do you charge your tracker? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub. You can find more detailed information in the help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Also, I'd like you to review the tips and recommendations provided in the article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

As a friendly reminder, the following are some factors that have an impact on battery life and may cause your battery to drain more quickly:

  • Frequently checking the Fitbit app, which syncs your tracker
  • Frequently receiving notifications
  • Frequently checking your stats
  • Using Quick View.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

I am having a similar issue. Have had my Versa 2 for about 2 months and recently the battery seems to drain really fast. For example, last night I charged it to 92% then wore it to bed. Work up this morning and its at 69%.

I'm not sure how so much battery could be used simply through me sleeping? I do not have an animated clock face and I have my notifications turned off. Additionally, I am obviously not using my apple pay, spotify or any additional apps at night, during my sleep. I try to keep it charged as much as possible but I'm finding myself needing to charge it nearly everyday, which is not ideal.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi there @atm22, thanks for stopping by and for the details provided about your Versa 2's battery behavior. I appreciate you've made sure to not use so many features to drain the battery on your watch.

As mentioned above, I'd like to ask where you charge your tracker? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub. You can find more detailed information in the help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Please take a look at the help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

If you still believe your battery is not lasting as long as expected, we’d like you to do a battery test to see how long your battery lasts after a full charge. Please do the following:

  1. Disable the features that can impact battery life as described here.
  2. Fully charge your tracker.
  3. Sync your tracker 5-6 times a day.
  4. Wear your tracker until it is fully depleted.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around and glad to further assist you.

I have also recently started to have issues with my battery draining much faster on my Versa 2. It used to last me 6 days, easy, but recently it has started dying after just 3 days. I’ve had it since mid-October and just last week these issues started happening.
I’ve also noticed that the notifications have been delayed... please help, not ready to part with my Fitbit yet...

Hi @Katie19, welcome on board. Thanks for letting me know about your recent experience with your Versa 2.

To address the battery issue, I'd recommend to take a look at my post above and try following the tips and recommendations.

About the notifications not coming though, we’re aware that some customers may experience a compatibility issue with notifications after updating their iPhone to iOS 13. Find help here.

Let me know the outcome, I'll be around.

Hi @MarreFitbit I had followed your advise from above. I use a wall outlet for charging. My versa 2 charges to 100%. I do not have always-on active, I don’t get many notifications (certainly no more than I was getting a few backs when the battery would last 6 days) I haven’t used any music apps. I really haven’t done anything differently than I had been doing when the battery was holding it’s charge for 6 days. In fact, I charged the battery last night, for 3 hours it was at 100%. I just looked at it now, not even 12 hours post-charge, and it is at 87%. This would never have been the case 2 weeks ago. What more can I do? Can Fitbit help?

I'm having the same issue as Katie19.  Use a wall charger to charge to 100%. I don't get many notifications (and come to think of it, haven't been getting any since the previous update) and don't use anything that should cause excessive battery drain. The only app I'm using is Glance, which tells me my blood sugar readings from my continuous glucose monitor.  I've been using Glance singe I bought the Versa 2 last summer and it wasn't until the last 2 FitBit updates that I started seeing the battery deplete much faster.  I used to get 5 days out of a 100% charge, now I'm lucky to get 3.

Very discouraging. I've been using FitBits since the early days and am sad to see these kinds of problems with such expensive devices.

I agree.  I was so excited to upgrade.  Glad I bought the warranty, I'm returning mine and going back to the older version and my timex wristwatch

Bought a Versa 2 for my wife in Dec 2019. This morning took it off the charger to change the band to new one, and the **ahem** thing won't work. Just displays the fitbit diamond on the screen, flashing every few seconds. Tried to connect to it from her phone app, but it couldn't. What the heck is the problem here?
