Two days ago, I accidently left my Versa 2 on charge overnight. Since then, yesterday and today, my battery is lasting less than 24 hrs. How do I rectify this please?

Welcome back in the community @Teenytrish.

Thank you for sharing the details regarding what's happening with your Versa 2. Sorry to know about it.

The Versa 2 battery should last up to 6 days. However, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here.

Hi I only use the basic clock face for that reason and don't use the always synching option. My device is less than a year, now only lasting 8 hrs between charges, so I will be asking for a replacement! Funny that thos happens following an update. Last two devices went same way and one was replaced!

Same here... just after the google interference, my watch has not been syncing, and now dies after less than 10 hours of just watch use. Since it wont sync, I can't get text or emails.

And, customer service can't send a new program update that updates the bad programing.... nor can I undo or go back, sigh...

@ManuFitbit  I only got 6 days battery life on my Versa 2 when it was NEW (approx 2.5 yrs ago) but over time it’s dropped to about 3 days. I know batteries degrade over time so have changed every setting on both my iPhone & Versa to maximize battery life on both. It’s unfort. Fitbit doesn’t have a battery health feature like iPhones do.

Question… I’m out of town & since I arrived, my Fitbit isn’t getting more than 24 hrs battery life & iPhone battery life dropped as well. Wondering if diff wifi & cellular networks impact battery life?? These are the only things that have changed.

I was lucky. This time I bought my fitbit from Amazon. They liaised on mu behalf and like me, got nowhere. They refunded me in full and told me not to send my device back but to put it in the bin!

My wife and I both have the Versa 2.  We both are now only getting about 1 day worth of battery life after being fully charged.   We haven't changed any settings, and we don't use the watch to control apps.  Both fitbits going from 5-7 days of battery life to 1 is sketchy.   I haven't been able to find any solutions to this problem. Am I missing something?

Exact same thing with my versa 2...it's not even a year old til the 22nd! Now only lasting 6-8 hrs from fully charged! I've heard that fitbits are to he fazed out as now owned by Google...maybe our devices are failing so that we will need to buy a very expensive, out of my range, Google pixel watch! Third gitbit I've had and sadly all died within or just after a year! No explanation just an offer of 30% off a new one! Poor customer service. Why no explanation of why this is happening? Also you now CANNOT turn off the all day sync so my mobile battery not lasting all day too! Please Fitbit tell us why our batteries are all draining in less than TWELVE hours!

Same thing with my Versa. Was staying charged 4-5 days now suddenly only stays charged 6 hours. Tried all the ways to fix it but none worked. I don't think this is a device problem, I think this is a software update problem???

Funny you should say that. My son got a fitbit versa2 about 6 months ago and never used it so gave it to me. He said its great wee watch battery lasts over a week! ( hecwas only using it as a watch to test it out. Well I added it to my fitbit account. Battery lasted 5 days, now only lasting 3...it can't be the device ...I sneakily think they have in built obsolescence so will die and we have to purchase a Google pixel watch as Google now own fitbit! Can't be a coincidence that the minute it's paired to an app, the battery life immediately halves! Tricia

My Versa2 (not yet 2 years old) has always held charge perfectly for about 6/7 days until a week ago and from 1 day to the next it suddenly only holds a charge for less than 12 hours.  How can this suddenly happen, I would have it expected a gradual drop in battery life but not suddenly to less than 24 hrs. Suspicious 🧐

Very suspicious. I thought it was just me but after reading this thread, I'm beginning to realize it's not.

My Versa 2 was lasting for 3 to 4 days and now it's not even getting one day.

My Versa 2 was lasting about 4 or 5 days and then all of a sudden I get two days, maybe.  It says it is synced to my iPhone but I no longer get call or text notifications on my Fitbit.  I thought maybe I did something wrong, but it sounds like its not just me. Mine started doing this last week.

It said to unpair and then pair again.  Now I constantly get a notification to pair my fitbit to my phone.

Yup, suspicious. And where is the moderator in all this ?

Best Answer

Your correct, it's a built in obsolesce code!  My original Versa 2 was great, battery lasted 5-6 days, until I updated the firmware over a year ago, then it suddenly started dying within a day.  I tossed it and started using my kids two year old Versa 2, have NEVER updated the firmware, and it stays charged for 5 days.

I will let everyone know, I went out of town this past weekend and my fitbit seemed to fix itself.  The batter is back to lasting longer and I am getting my notifications again and my phone is not constantly asking to be paired.  Just wondering if anyone else's did this.  Maybe they fixed something.

@kimber8030 Wondering if when you were out of town if you were using wifi or just cellular? I was out of town for 4 days not long ago, only used cellular & my Versa battery life was much better. I charged it before I left & got nearly 5 days 😳

I am not sure.  I think I bounced back and forth.  When I am at home I use Wi-fi, but when I am at work I use cellular.  I charged it while I was there on Saturday and haven't had to charge it since.
