Versa 2 became Extremely Hot & No Longer works?

Recently I set about putting my Versa 2 (of 18 months) on a charge, Upon returning to the watch and picking it up, I burnt my fingers! The versa and the charger had both become extremely hot. So hot in fact that the area around the charger pins had melted as well as the contact points of the watch itself. Now the watch did charge, but after discharging and trying with a different charger (My daughters versa 2 charger), to charge my watch again, the watch started to heat up again and failed. The versa up until its demise had being cleaned on a daily routine. NO liquid, NO cleaners, just cotton wool and buds used. I am at a loss now after paying nearly €250.00 for a it, I have but a few simple questions to ask,

  • Does this happen to Versa's often?
  • Has anyone in the community had a similar occurrence/
  • Is there anything I can do about it?
  • Will Fitbit replace my watch?
  • Should I cut my losses-es and buy a Garmin?
  • Will the same fate occur to my Daughters versa 2 and my Wife's versa 3?

Kindest Regards . . .IMG20210806145048.jpgIMG20210806145045.jpgIMG20210806145009.jpgIMG20210806144951.jpgIMG20210806144947.jpgIMG20210806144929.jpg
