Versa 2 blank screen and stuck on the Fitbit logo

Hi there,

I did search to see if there were answers to this, did not see them. Woke up this morning and my Versa 2 was dark (75% charged last night). Did a 10-second restart a few times, the logo comes up, I let go, it just goes dark again. It's not battery, it's not screen, it last synced about an hour before I woke and I don't see the solution elsewhere on these pages. Can anyone help?

Thank you, T

Hi there, @LeagleAlien. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 is still stuck on the Fitbit logo. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

If the above doesn't work and your Versa 2 is still stuck on the Fitbit logo, please try the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 2 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Thank you, unfortunately these steps have not worked. I was previously not able to get beyond restarting the Versea 2, seeing the icon and having it instantly disappear and the screen going dark again, But now,  my Versa is not even turning on at all, though it should still have a charge. There appears to have been SOME communication between my phone and my Versa 2 given that it appeared to recognize a changing battery power, but now that I have unpaired the watch from teh Fitbit app, that too has been lost.

Please advise.

@LeagleAlien Thanks for following the steps I recommended.

Since all the steps you tried didn't work, you have a Versa 2 and report it's not syncing anymore, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.

This form is only meant for you to use, so let me know once you’re done. Click here to get access to it.

Thank you Marre,

I appreciate your help and your best intentions, after I filled out your form I was sent a link to a fix for a Fitbit that won't charge which really was not the problem, though a problem I am facing is that a Fitbit that would only turn on long enough to turn straight off again has now lost his charge and so is completely dead and thereby useless. (I have left it on charge overnight and no amount of holding the side button is getting it to do anything.) I would be willing to do a factory reset if I had a charge, but I don't believe that is an option. If there is a way of doing this while the fitbit is dark, please let me know. Otherwise I feel that this has run its life cycle, and a short one at that!
