Versa 2 change watch face stuck on "switching"

Brand new Versa 2, updated to 35.70.7.21 after turning on for the first time. I grabbed a few watch faces from Fitbit Android app to try. Fitbit Android app is v3.16.

 

When selecting another watch face to try, the Versa 2 vibrates and the new watch face (usually) appears but the Fitbit app is stuck with the word "switching...." on the new watch face. This prevents new watch faces from being selected and the current watch settings from being applied.

 

I force closed the Fitbit app, cleared the cache, and restarted the phone. I restarted the Versa 2. Same problem, in fact even after force closing the Fitbit app and restarting the phone, upon restarting the Fitbit app it still shows "switching...." as the status.

 

Ultimately, I completely removed the Versa 2 from the Fitbit app and factory reset the Versa 2. I'm using the default Fitbit watch face because I don't have time to mess around with another cycle of this happening.

 

Is this a known issue or a fluke deal that I'm probably safe to try again?

try swiping up from the bottom of the screen...  this brings up the Today section.   When that appears, press the left button to go back to the watch face.

addional to my previous post...  on the Versa 2...  swipe up to the Today screen.  Then go back to the watch face.  also, make sure that the phone and versa 2 are in close proximity.

This has happened to me too. I've removed the device from my app, restarted my app, my phone, and my device, and as soon as I go to the watch face menu it still shows the same face as switching. The watch itself is showing the default face, but I cannot select any other faces because it says it's in the middle of the switch process. This is a brand new watch.

I am having this same issue. I didn’t even try to change the watch face. I noticed the default face last night and when I tried to change it back to the one I normally use I got stuck in “Switching”. I’ve tried all the resets, delete/reinstall, log out/in, etc. All attempts are fails!

Same here.  Brand new watch.  Stuck on "switching".  Seems as though the only thing that will stop it is a full factory reset and unpairing the watch.  The watch connects to WiFi and then drops it for some reason, so I've factory reset over Bluetooth 3x's which has taken more than 4hrs.  This is my third fitbit, the first two charge3's were replaced under warranty so I decided to "upgrade" to Versa2 and take the 50% off on this one.  Fool me 3x's.....

How is a product released that is so buggy and incompatible a thing is this day and age?   I've downloaded free crowdsourse apps that have better, more solid code.  This thing is a disgrace....again.

Tried the swipe to today screen and left button press but the app still says switching and I can't I install anything, getting error messages for the app's having failures to install. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Oh it's a versa 2.

I started having this problem today.  I was having trouble with the Sp02 face not looking normal so I downloaded a new face and it has been stuck on "switching" ever since I downloaded the new face. The only good thing is that my Sp02 face is working properly again.
