Versa 2 counting my arm movements

I sit and label product for my company that I own. I get in my 10,000 steps by doing this ... LOL! I don't want to take it off because frankly when I do get up I forget to put it back on. Is there a secret or a setting I can use? I know Fitbit has an algorithm that it uses but obviously when I sit for 2 hours I am not walking and surely not getting 10,000 steps in. I wouldn't mind if it was just a few but when my Versa 2 vibrates and congratulates me on 10,000 steps it's a bit disappointing.

Hi @JohnnaZ  these are wrist based devices and each movement of our hands will count as a step. People who knit, sign ASL or play the drums will have a higher step count. If you're pushing a stroller or shopping cart, holding something close to your chest or put your hands in your pockets, the steps aren't always counted. The only solution would be to substitute an activity for those unwanted steps - click to learn how.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

@JohnnaZ I don't remember what the default setting is, but you could try verifying that your settings are set to worn on dominate wrist. That's supposed to make it a little less sensitive to motion. Might be worth a try.
