Versa 2 counting steps wrongly and calories burnt too high

Iam a new user of fitbit versa2 smart watch. The whole reason I bought it is because I wanted to count my steps and check on calories Iam burning. Unfortunately all this is coming out wrong . My I phone is showing me I have done 1197 steps and burned 31 calories and compared to my fitbit watch recording 4388 steps  and 874 calories burned. This is very wrong . Steps were ok until I did the latest update. Help me fix this please , otherwise my money went in the drain.

If iPhone showing 31 calories burned, that sounds suspicious, but you don't say since when. How  long does that cover? Are you talking just some specific workout? just some time period?  Fitbit tells you since midnight, including your BMR calories you are always burning.  31 BMR calories would be gone like pfft!  Be sure you are not comparing apples and oranges.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
