Versa 2 counting way too many steps

I have just purchased my Versa 2 and it is way over counting my steps. I calibrated my steps and set the Versa 2 to non-dominate. The step counter is adding an insane amount of steps. From wading dishes i got 1000+ steps. While sitting down at the computer I got anther 1000+ steps. Was this a bad investment?

I'd like you to try a restart as described in this help article. After this, check out this help page, which explains why your Fitbit device may count extra steps. Finally, monitor your watch for the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.
