I know it will count some arm movements as steps. But I can sit at my desk all day working with paperwork and by noon it will flash and tell me how awesome I am for reaching 5000 steps. That's insane because I never even got up. It is on my non-dominant arm but both arms move a lot with my work.
This doesn't make the tracker super useful in tracking. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @sherri0629.
Thank you for the information provided.
When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, your Fitbit Versa 2 may add some steps. For information about how accurate are Fitbit devices, please visit this article.
The dominant wrist setting decreases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any over counting of steps when your body is not moving. Your dominant hand is the one you use for writing and eating. You can find this setting if you visit the online Dashboard at fitbit.com > Settings > Devices > Versa 2 > Wrist.
If necessary, you can negate the extra data by manually logging a driving activity. For instructions, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".
