I went snorkeling today for less than 20 minutes, took a break and noticed my Versa 2 is no longer on. Took it off, rinsed with fresh water and dried it, nothing. Tried charging it, got black screen. I looked up very carefully before going (maybe I should have looked at the forum) and all the official rating suggested to me that it is fine to swim with it. This is very disappointing.
I have been a Fitbit user for 9-10 years and started with the Fitbit One and was premium member until this year. I also own a scare and have been deeply invested in the Fitbit Ecosystem. Very sad to see the product quality declining. It is also very anxiety inducing cause I’m currently pregnant and are using the Fitbit to track my exercise, sleep and food very carefully since I had some trouble with weight management in the beginning. I’m currently traveling and don’t have any alternative to have it replaced. This is very very disappointing and make me think I should move on to either Apple Watch or Garmin.

This exact scenario just happened to me this week. Don't expect much from Fitbit in this. They were no help with troubleshooting and promised a discount on another Fitbit, which still hasn't happened and it's been over a week. I too am considering a different brand... don't want to spend 200 on products that don't even last 2 years.

Same thing just happened to me too! I wasn't even in the water 10 minutes. I've been using Fitbit's products consistently since 2013, and agree that quality, and customer service has declined over the years. Thinking of switching brands as well, I purchased the Versa when it debuted, and that one died within the warranty period, Fitbit did replace the device, but it has not lasted even a year and a half...

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I wasn’t swimming, just planting seeds and flowers in my garden. I was using the hose to remove the dirt and mud from my hands. I dried the water off a few minutes later. It stopped working after I took it off and dried it. It’s been fine when I swam with it before and I’ve had this Versa 2 since 2018. Not sure what happened. Just sad it’s not working anymore.

So I replied to this post before contacting customer support... I did contact customer support and explained the issue I was having, and when I mentioned that the watch got really hot a couple days later (I wanted to give the device proper time to dry out) when I placed it on the charger, they transferred me over to a different area of customer support. I am now mailing the watch inland was told they would send a replacement. I'm not sure if you are experiencing the same issue on the charger as I did, but if so, maybe reach out to customer support... I feel bad that I mentioned the support issue right off the bat....that was a comment made after a poor experience a few years ago.
