Versa 2 dies when it's at 50% of battery

Owned the versa 2 for several years, and has been absolutely fantastic until a extremely sudden drop in battery life in late January. Doesnt last greater than 6 hours or so with an initial charge of 100%, and will completely turn off at around 55% remaining. Sometimes it will randomly start up again with the fitbit logo but it never loads until charged again. Ive never ran always on display, usage has not changed at all in the last 12 months, so can't imagine this is an usage issue.

Hi there, @Tashino. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about your Versa 2's recent behavior. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this!

Regarding battery life, may I know if you are using always-on display or GPS? Please note these features require more frequent charging. For more information, please see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Nevertheless, bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%.  Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning).

Additionally, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Use only UL-certified wall chargers
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

I have similar issues with my battery; all of a sudden it loses energy in two/three days instead of the regular 5-6 days. It is quite annoying. It happened before but regained its original energy use of 5-6, but now it doesn’t. Can’t understand what happened. Also my app keeps on asking to link to my watch. Don’t know why it loses its connection??
