Why is it every time I look on the Fitbit website a watch/tracker from Fitbit is discontinued: the versa, the versa lite, the charge 3, the blaze, the ionic, etc. The versa 2 isn’t even that old. Like what is going on?

Versa 2 is still listed in the Fitbit Store.

Why do you think it is discontinued?

It would be really nice if Fitbit would perfect their currrent devices before adding more to the lineup.

Well I have the Fitbit versa to the special edition one and I went on fitbit.com to look to see what was in their lineup and it wasn’t available anymore and I actually get a chat session and told the person hey Fitbit versa two special edition isn’t available anymore what’s going on and they said that it was being discontinued. And then I asked if the whole line of Versa 2 Was being discontinued and they were like yes. I mean I really like Fitbit but it’s like every time I go on fitbit.com it seems to be there changing everything. I get you want to add new fitness trackers and watches to the lineup but a lot of those that were being discontinued weren’t even that old.

Sometimes perfecting requires a change of the internal hardware.

Agree it is frustrating but in Fitbit's defense, just remember Apple puts a new watch out every year (with minor improvements over the year before) and they turn it into a huge event and like it is the most exciting thing ever, so Fitbit releasing a new watch every year is just kind of how the tech world works now. I mean Garmin has so many models out, I've lost count and they release every year too. My Charge 2 is still working all these years later, so even if it isn't the newest model, Fitbit will do their best to keep it running.

One thing is for a device to keep working and another is to keep receiving significant updates.
Fitbit has already acknowledged that original Versa, Versa Lite and Versa 2 won't be getting the latest OS and functions from the Versa 3 and Sense. Developers would have to intentionally create apps for both old and new devices separately, so in time the first Versa and Versa 2 will end up with an outdated, featureless app store and likely only receiving bug fix updates.
Apple keeps releasing new Watch OS updates for older Apple Watches long after they are discontinued.
So, yes, your old Versa will keep working and giving you readings, but it is in fact discontinued.

It's extremely frustrating to spend $200 on a watch and then Fitbit makes it BECOME OBSOLETE in less than 2 years! SUPER irritated with the company and their products! I made the mistake of buying the Versa.........well what do you suppose happened to my Versa once Versa 2 and then Versa 3 hit the market?!?!? They effectively made the Versa nothing but a junk piece and then when you call customer service/support they blame the malfunctioning watch on your phone or your internet...........or something else.......NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING AGAIN FROM FITBIT!!!!!!!!!

NO, Fitbit will NOT do their best to keep it running.............they actually turned mine into nothing but a junk piece by having me do a factory reset which did nothing but make the thing more worthless!

I have a versa lite did what the book said to clear my info so my husband could use it until we got his (having heart problems) to track heart beat. Now have a X data not cleared sync and try again...don't do it....they have pages of people with same problem and the keep posting the same things to try and not 1 person has said it worked. Shame on fitbit for not making it right when it is your product. I have used a few different fitbits but I don't have money to waste. Not much different than a scam when you follow the book and then you can't use it and they aren't fixing the problem.
Shame on you Fitbit

They are all about the money not the people with problems on already bought products

Why defend a company that when following their book instructions it gives you( X data not cleared sync and try again) and they don't have a fix. They just repost the same things to try over and over knowing it isn't going to work. Pages of people with same problem and not 1 said it fixed it and Fitbit closed the page. They want the money but not going to back their products...
