Versa 2 displays a red "X"

I’ve had my Versa 2 for a few weeks and it has started being glitchy. Just seemed to freeze. Finally I got a red X. I found to hold the button for 8 seconds, and reset but can’t get that far. I have also uninstalled the app number plus times. I’m at a loss. I’ve heard from others where they became more than. Disappointed in their fitbits over time and this wasn’t the route, did I make a mistake too?

Hi @Sophiauk, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'd like to follow up and help you with your Versa 2 since the screen got frozen and it showed a red "X". By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Set up your watch from scratch and see if the issues get fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I am having the same problem. My Fitbit Versa 2 has a :cross_mark: and it will not sync. You write to hold down “all 3 buttons”, but my Versa 2 only has one button, it is on the left hand side. Where are the 3 buttons?

I tried to reset it, and after 20 minutes it said “Reset failed, please try again”
