Versa 2 distance is inaccurate

I have tried using my Versa 2 when I'm hiking and the mileage is always much higher than the actual mileage.  For a 3 mile hike the Versa 2 will show 3.8 or higher and for a 6 mile hike it shows 8 miles or higher. What can I do to calibrate it?

Can't tell anything without knowing whether or not you are connecting to phone's GPS.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
