Versa 2 distance won't sync on my phone accurately

I recently got a Versa 2 and am using the android app on a samsung galaxy so. 

When running a distance I beleive to be around 5km, I get largely different distance readings from the watch and from the app. I originally tried starting the run from the watch using GPS connection, and it said the run was 3.8km.

The next time I tried turning off GPS connection  and starting the run both on the watch and the app. The watch again said it was 3.8km and the app said it was 5.4km upon finishing. Then when I went into the exercise app the 5.4km run had changed to 4.7km. Can anyone help with this?

Hi @JamieH177, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa 2 is not syncing your distance accurately.

Please make sure that your phone runs the most recent Fitbit app version. If the app is up to date, try logging out of the app, restart your phone, open the app and log in. After this, restart your Versa 2 as described in this help article. Finally, monitor your watch and app after syncing your exercise and see if the distance is accurate.
