Versa 2 does not turn on once removed from charging/docking station

Hello all-

I have been a fitbit supporter for years (Blaze, Ionic, Versa 2) but I may have reached my end with this product line.  I didn't think I would need the extended warranty, but regrettably, it appears to be the case.

Here is my issue process:

The Versa 2 barely over a year old does not turn on when taken off its docking station.

Once Versa 2 is docked, it will turn on and display the logo and go to the home clock screen. It will also charge and I can see the Versa 2 sync with my android S8+. Once I remove the watch from the docking/charging station, the Versa 2 screen goes completely blank and unresponsive.

Tried the following:

I've successfully changed clock faces

I've cleaned the docking station base

I've removed the device within my fitbit app

I'm not sure how to hard reset the watch as it goes completely dead once removed from the docking station.

Anybody else have this problem? Any help or guidance is appreciated.

I actually did the factory reset within the menu of the Versa 2 while docked. Downloading latest update, in hopes it fixes it. Will keep posted.
