Versa 2 doesn't count laps when swimming. Has this been fixed?

I was perfectly happy with my old Versas. Even though they twice broke down and needed replacing, when they did work, they did what I bought them to do... count my swimming laps. For the second replacement, they sent the Versa 2, which doesn't count laps. All it is is an expensive clock- pools already have these, so there is absolutely no point to the watch.

Have Fitbit updated to bring back this feature, or do I need to sell the Versa 2 on ebay and buy something that works?

Thanks for any replies.

I have the same problem, and cannot believe that the Versa 2 would eliminate the on-the-watch Lap Counter when the old Versa had that feature. I lost track of the number of laps I had completed this morning and there is no way to find that out on the watch. Frankly, the Versa 2 is of no use to me as it is presently configured. Swimming is my main exercise. Please correct this.

So it counts lengths now... but it sucks. Today I swam at least 2000 yards (80 lengths) but I only got credit for 1700 (69 lengths). How does one get accurate length counts? FYI, I swim freestyle with no stops and use flip turns.
