Versa 2 eternally bright screen and poor battery life

Screen brightness menu cycles DIM, NORMAL and BRIGHT but the screen stays bright no matter what. Now battery last less than 24 hours. Device is only six months old. Shutdown and restart does not change anything and reset to factory default does not help.

Check if you are in Sleep Mode.

Oops, never mind.  I read too quickly and though saying screen stayed dim, not bright.  Sorry.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
