Versa 2 first mile pacing off

Has anyone struggled with the first mile pacing on the Versa 2? My first-mile pacing is often drastically off; I can be booking it at an 8:00 min/mile pace but the Fitbit tracks closer to 11-12:00 min/mile which of effects my end average pace quite a bit. Later miles are much more in-line with reality. It's like it needs to "warm-up" or something. Very weird. Any ideas?

Assuming you are using phone's GPS, are you waiting to start run until GPS gets connected?  Just wondering if accumulating time on run before distance starts getting measured.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yes, I wait until the running app tells me it’s connected before starting
the run. I’ve read here and there that location can mess with the GPS
tracking. But I live in a residential neighborhood in the middle of my
city, so I can’t imagine that would be an issue. Additionally, when I’ve
used other running apps, I don’t have that issue.
