Versa 2 freezing

I keep seeing a lot of users are struggling with this issue and don’t see any resolution aside from restarting it. My versa froze and I had to hold the side button multiple times to get it to finally reset. When it did reset, it still was frozen and would vibrate randomly and this has happened multiple times. It woke me up in the middle of the night vibrating and wouldn’t stop till I reset it a few times. This is getting quite annoying since it’s now interfering with my sleep, so what is the fix for this? Is FitBit working on a patch in the software or a permanent resolution because having to reset a watch every day because of this glitch isn’t acceptable. Especially when you’re wanting members to pay for premium when there’s a massive error occurring in the actual product.

Hi @Mandabear424, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps that were tried prior to posting, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced such inconvenience and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, please try our factory reset procedure following the next steps:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates the factory reset procedure was initiated.

Keep me posted. The feedback that was shared in your post is appreciated.

I tried the factory reset and now the touch screen isn’t even reacting, I contacted FitBit support and have a replacement on the way. I’m not hopeful this won’t happen again as it is a common issue being mentioned in these forums.

My versa 2 button quit working a few days ago.  Now the screen froze when I tried to sync my earbuds.
the screen has a pic of a watch and a phone and says

source

output

audio output is

controlled by phone

holding the button doesn’t do anything.

I also am experiencing the same issues after only three months. The screen freezes, I restart the device and after a few swipes the screen freezes again.
I tried the factory reset which turned out to be a disaster since now my device is completely unresponsive.

I sent mine back and they sent a new one.

I have been having this issue for well over a month.  Apparently I did the factory reset w/o even knowing it but problem still persists. The app on the phone is getting the info but the watch itself is very unresponsive.

That is exactly what I am experiencing. I have not been able to find a solution anywhere. I think the only recourse is to contact Customer Support but given what’s going on with the pandemic it’s low on my priority list.

Hi I was able to get my Versa2 working again;

1. Make sure your device is fully charged

2. In the Fitbit app on your phone if the Versa2 is still listed within the app, remove it.
3. In the Bluetooth setting on your phone there should be a list of items that are or were connected. If the Versa2 is there, tap on it and hit forget this device

4 Within the Fitbit app hit +setup device

this should restart the process just make sure your Bluetooth is on and the watch is changed. Hope this works for you Good Luck!

Did all that,  now the issue is when trying to pair 4 numbers are supposed to show up on the screen but the screen is not responding so I'm running out if luck I'm. afraid. Now it's totally useless.  And just an aside, the watch was randomly vibrating but I had no notifications set up except reminder 250 steps every hour which vibrated at 10 mins. Before the hour.

Thanks for the help

Your welcome. Sorry to hear it didn’t work. It took me several attempts before the four numbers appeared on the watch.

I've had my versa 2 since Christmas with no problems in recent weeks my watch has started to freeze up. I have read the post on here to reset it. So I have tied holding the button till the logo came up and then again after two seconds. The problem still is constantly happening. I need help with more information on what to do.

Mine was not necessarily freezing, it just was not displaying anything on the watch.

I actually just received a replacement from Fitbit.

My Versa 2 is frozen with the Fitbit logo on the face.  It is unresponsive when I press the restart button.

My Versa2 also froze. I was able to resolve the issue by eventually going to settings>about >factory reset. It took several attempts.
Then charge the watch. In the Fitbit app on my phone, I tapped on Versa2 scrolled down and tapped on ‘forget this Versa2’

Then I started the setup process again (+setup a device)

make sure your Bluetooth in on in your phone settings. You should receive a four digit code.
enter it to redo the setup

Once my watch was functional again I found that keeping it in the always on mode kept it from freezing.
This was a very frustrating process!! I hope it helps you!

My watch does the same thing. Factory reset did nothing. And customer service has been terrible. 2.5 hours on hold without getting to talk to anyone. Tried twitter DM and I get a response once every 9 hours or so.

I received a response from Facebook messenger within an hour and they started a ticket.  Had a new watch (only the watch) within a week,
