  • I have never had a problem before. Now , two weeks with no sleep scores . I have tried all the usual tech reloads. No difference.

Welcome to the forums @TDerrick.

Thanks for sharing the inquiry, and trying to fix it by your own.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see a sleep score. There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you see sleep stages but don’t see a sleep score, please note that it may take a few minutes for your sleep score to appear. In addition, for better results please try to let the device detect that you're awake or asleep by itself rather than doing it manually and make sure to keep the Fitbit app and the devices' firmware updated to the latest version available.

The Versa 2 may need some days to collect some information (particularly regarding to heart rate) and provide sleep score, sleep stages and other data. Make sure that you've also tried the restart procedure described here and check if you continue to experience the same problem.

In case the problem is related to the Fitbit app, please try the following as well:

  • Log out from the app.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies for the Fitbit app in your phone's settings.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Log back in to check if you're able to see your data properly.

This happened to me, too. Nothing had changed and yet all of a sudden about a month ago, I stopped getting sleep scores… it stopped recognizing my sleep altogether. I made sure app was up to date, restarted everything, wore fitbit higher/lower/tighter, manually started sleep, migrated to google,  did everything I could think of yet it still doesn’t work. Also, it only rarely recognizes as my hourly movements now as well. What happened??

I don’t know, Betty. I’ve been using Fitbit for years and never had this problem. It simply won’t read sleep stages, although it reads heart rate and movement fine.

Things have not improved with Google takeover. I may be moving on to Apple. Crippling Fitbit WILL NOT make me purchase a Pixel watch.

Mine stopped recording my sleep September 2. I have tried all the fixes they suggest and no luck. Very frustrating.

Mine never recovered. I stopped trying. I don’t need the aggravation in my
life.

Same here. To access my SpO2 score I switched to the spO2 clock face, so far it works, but the stats on the Heath Manager are gone since early September.  Very frustrating.

Amazingly, I got a sleep score this morning. First one in three weeks.
No rhyme, no reason.

I just got my watch back from being "repaired".  For some reason, the sleep information is NOT on the watch like it has always been!  It's not on the watch AT ALL!  Did I forget to turn something on?  Where did it go?  I have sleep apnea, so tracking it is important to me.

My Versa 2 has also stopped tracking heat rate and sleep for the past couple of days. I have tried all the reset steps that are described in both threads.

Update.

Ok. I have two days in a row of sleep score / stages. I took a closer
look today. There has definitely been a software update with the app. Sleep
score has a whole new look.
We may have been caught in an update bug.
Hang in there. Yours may come back also.
