Versa 2 heart rate far off

Hello community,

I'm a fairly new fitbit user as I bought my versa 2 in Dec 2019. I've been enjoying it and trusting it with tracking my exercises.

Recently, I'm encountering recurring issues and would like to understand better and see if there are any resolutions:

  • I was working on a 30-min HIIT, finishing it with lots of (30!) burpees, however the heart rate measure was dropping drastically from over 120 to 80 and then dropping second by second to 70. I was certain it wasn't accurate so I took it off and wore it back off. The measure was then off for a short while and then went back up to around 150.
  • My resting heart rate has remained exactly the same (and very low!) for two weeks

I tried restarting the watch and was wearing it two fingers inwards from wrist. The issue still persists.

Does anyone face similar issues, am I using or maintaining it incorrectly? I am assuming and hoping that the watch is working fine as it's a very recent purchase. Hope to hear your experiences!

Hi @j_hin, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I'd like to follow up and help you with your Versa 2 since the heart rate readings haven't been accurate. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

Please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

Also, I'd like to share this help article, which explains how your Fitbit device tracks your heart rate.

Finally, monitor your watch for the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.
