I updated my Versa 2 at the weekend and since then my heart rate has been inaccurate during workouts. I do hiit classes, and last week my average heart rate during these classes was normally around the 170 mark. It's now around the 120 mark.
I've tried cleaning the back, fully charging and restarting the device - nothing has worked. I've only had the device since September, so it breaking after 4 months is ridiculous.

I worked out for 50 minutes this morning. My fitbit app afterwards showed how my workout was split between my Heart Rate Zones (60% in Peak). Then I did the update. Now the app says that I was under the Heart Rate Zones for 100% of the time. Additionally, the detailed stats shows that I had 0 minutes in ALL THREE heart rate zones. Please fix it.

It has been my experience that on the day of taking an update and sometimes the next day, as well, that zone reporting goes "flakey".
Hopefully that still applies. I cannot say as I went "off-platform" a year ago.
While I had to go elsewhere due to FitBit's issues with heart rate reporting, I still say they have the potential to be the leader in device/application combination (Apple is not that good). And this is coming from a retired computer application professional of over 40 years. If they would get their heart rate reporting act together, I'd come back "into the fold".
Good luck.

This has been an issue for almost 2 years now. My versa 2 was 6 weeks old when an update killed it. Before that, my charge 3 lasted 11 months - although it was most reliable, the display stopped working. Having gone through 2 Fitbit devices in 14 months, I jumped ship and really happy with the reliability of my current device which I have had since April 2021. I can’t name it as the moderators will remove my post for breaking the community rules. I haven’t looked at Fitbit for months but must have posted on this thread last year so started getting notifications again and looks like Fitbit have not learned from previous mistakes.

Yes just got message that my fitbit is out of warranty so here is a discount off to buy a new one. Their update messes up my fitbit and I have to spend money to fix the problem. How unfair! I am definitely exploring other options. Sad thing is I never had any issues with my other 2 fitbits I wore them into the ground and even now my husband is still using my old one I would have happily purchased another one when I was ready. The discount they offered isn't bad but I'm struggling with the principle of the thing big time

I bought versa 2 after Fitbit offered me discount for charge 3. In the end, I spent more on two Fitbits, even with discount, than my current one and it has been going strong for 16 months now. Their discounts give you false economy. You can buy them cheaper elsewhere and other retailers will also honour return policy.
