Versa 2 heart rate inaccuracies

I recently discovered my Versa 2 heart rate not being very accurate, after reading several posts on resetting and placement on the wrist vs moving it further up the arm....I decided to experiment with it a little and found it to be even worse! Starting about 2 finger widths back of my non-dominant wrist I have a very large and dark colored tattoo, so the further up my arm the tattoo blocks the entire area where my Fitbit would go. Normal day wear, it works great and tracks no problem but when exercising the heart rate monitoring becomes very in accurate. My question would be, should I try switching to my dominant arm when working out with elevated heart rates (since there are no large dark tattoos in that area) or should I maybe roll the Fitbit to the underside of my non-dominant arm and see if that tracks? Also if I switch to my dominant arm during workouts, do I need to change the setting in the app just while exercising? Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there @Mattcoholic, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 2 and for already trying to troubleshoot it.

In this case, we'd suggest to try the device on the other wrist where you don't have the tattoo. For more information, see How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? and What factors can affect my heart rate-rate reading on my Fitbit device?
