Versa 2 heart rate inaccurate

I just received a versa 2 as a gift, and I was moderately excited, mostly because I thought I would be able to track my heart rate during workouts. After I set up the versa, I saw that the heart rate information was off by about 30 beats per minute, even when I was just sitting at the table looking at fitbit information online. Then I read a lot of posts in this forum describing the same problem, and tried the fixes -- restarting it, moving it up my arm, tightening it, etc. Nothing works, and no meaningful fix seems to be forthcoming, based on the forum responses. And if the versa 2 can't do this function accurately, what can it do accurately--can I trust it to count steps or track distances accurately? No. So this device is worthless to me, and it's destined to sit in a drawer until I figure out how to responsibly recycle it. What a waste.
