This is the second time it's done this to me, only after coming in contact with pool water...resets and restarts don't seem to help! Guess it's not really water resistant.

Yeah I did that once. Followed the same steps. And still hasn't returned to working order.

In this case, since you already tried all the troubleshooting steps found in the Community forums to try to resolve the problem with the heart rate information, I recommend that you continue the assistance process with the Customer Support team so they can let you know how to proceed. Let me know of the steps that you already tried and were not successful.
