Versa 2 heart rate sensors not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since New Year’s Day my versa2 is no longer tracking heart or sleep. The green sensor light is no longer on. I’ve checked HR is turned on I’ve reset it numerous times I’ve uninstalled the app. Turned blue tooth on and off and disconnected and reconnected I’ve charged the battery and nothing is working! The Fitbit is just over a year old. How can it suddenly just stop! I’m reluctant to buy a new Fitbit as I brought it as its battery lasted longer than my Apple Watch for a full shift(12hrs) now it’s not giving me any information ( basically it’s now a overpriced timepiece ) not what I purchased it for!
many other ideas as ive exhausted all what they suggest !

I’ve given up now and gone to another brand as I’m hacked off with Fitbit’s no caring attitude.

I've emailed asking for a replacement or a refund

Which one have you changed to?

I've got a feeling I'll end up purchasing something else if they don't send a replacement.

Hi I’m also experiencing this same issue, it started about 3 weeks ago

Seems like there is definitely an issue with Fitbit. I wonder if they will respond to my email?

Hope you manage to sort out your Fitbit.

So after dragging it out for 40 days, I have now been told fitbit are unable to repair or replace my Fitbit. Great customer service 🙄

This has been an ongoing issue throughout many of the FitBit HR devices. I’ve owned the original HR, the Charge 2, the Versa and now the Versa 2. My very first device (the original HR) is the only one that never had an issue. Every device I’ve owned since has had the HR monitoring failure issue. I’ve even had two failures within the warranty period! If you are fortunate, your device will still be in warranty. Unfortunately they will only honor the remaining, existing warranty for the “new” device they send you. Once the warranty expires, the best you’ll get is a discount on a new model.

My current Versa2 is a replacement for my Versa that had the exact same issue. I was given the Versa2 for replacement since the Versa was no longer being sold. Now, this device, too, has experienced the issue (just within the past couple of months). I don’t know what the ultimate resolution to a multi-year, multi-device issue will be. I could probably recite all of the troubleshooting steps without even looking them up (I know I can follow them without looking them up).

The ONLY reason I have stayed with FitBit is due to its HR and sleep tracking. I have a health-related issue that causes sleep disruption and the device has helped in monitoring my sleeping trends. It has been 5-6 years of repeated issues with the HR functionality. At this point, I decided if another device failed on me, I’d look into replacing it.

If FitBit wants to retain their customer base, they really need to address this on-going, years-old issue. As much as I’ve enjoyed my devices - especially when they are working correctly - I just cannot justify paying so much money to get a new device if it cannot seem to hold to its purported purpose.

As far as I’m concerned, the SpO2 feature is a bust (unless you own the latest device). It only works if you use a specific clock face on the grandfathered devices (such as the Versa2). I prefer a less cluttered clock face.

They have told me there is nothing they can do.

I ordered mine from Amazon and have arranged for a replacement to be sent and I'll return this one.

I know the issue will remain with the replacement but maybe I can sell it as it will be brand new and then i can buy another brand.

Fitbit are not interested in their customers as far as my experience shows. Really disappointed in their lack of support and caring attitude. I've had a Fitbit for about 5 years and they are usually great but not this time.

Latest update.

I recieved a replacement from Amazon as Fitbit refused to replace it as I hadn't purchased it directly from them. It's true as they are more expensive than Amazon.

I did the same weights workout this evening. The 'faulty' Fitbit was tracking around 120 calories burnt for an hour workout. Tonight's one tracked 314 calories for the same workout/time.

Think that confirms the other was faulty.

Hi

I got my versa 2 device in December 2019 and loved it, it's my second fitbit watch... With all the covid situation and 2 toddlers staying more at home etc I haven't noticed that some of the functions stopped working. According to my fitbit app last sleep track and heart rate was on 22.06.2020 🤦🏼‍:female_sign:😅 steps count on which I have been focused mostly till now works perfectly, I started some exercising classes and would love for my fitbit to be useful during such activities... what can I do? No green light dioda at the back, nothing works I tried all mentioned previously restarts, updates etc... nothing at all works... it's a pity cause I was considering a different watch after my charge2 died but stayed with fitbit now I am not so sure it was a good choice

Nothing done so I’ve left Fitbit, not one acknowledgment to my problem. Shocking service or lack of! I’ve left Fitbit and all their product as I’ve no faith in them.

Sorry to hear you are also having same issues! Shame Fitbit don’t listen as it’s obviously a issue they need to address

Hi, sorry to hear that there was no response from the fitbit team to your problem, they haven't contacted me yet but hopefully someone will.

I had bought my versa 2 on Amazon and we talked with their support team today, they said it has 2year warranty and free of charge we can send it to them and they will run some checks and decide whether to repair it or replace it with a new one.

I will wait few more days to see if fitbit responds, not sure they will based on so many unanswered posts, so we will probably end up with sending my watch back to Amazon.
