Versa 2 heart rate tracking accuracy concern

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the last update my heart rate and zone minutes are totally inaccurate. Today I got 5 zone minutes! I power walked for an hour and it gave me 2 zone minutes!  Cleaned the house from top to bottom and got barely any! It’s also said intense exercise when I’m sitting having my morning decaf coffee!! This is unacceptable Fitbit. Ready for putting it in the bin!

Me too, this is my 2nd Fitbit in just over 1 year because of different problems. So inaccurate, Not sure how my heart rate can be 112 bpm whilst working out then 160bpm when sitting doing nothing 🤦🏻‍:female_sign:

Mine barely goes over a 100 during exercise but at times when I’m sitting it’s in the intense workout zone! Was almost considering contacting my Dr till I realised the fault!

Just finished a HIIT session and the heart rate barely went over 100 (facepalm). It was all fine till I updated last Monday and like everyone else, I am getting more and more annoyed with Fitbit as they are neither acknowledging the problem nor telling us if they are working on a fix. I have had my Versa 2 for just 6 weeks. I am doing a 21 day challenge so need to send my workouts for accountability. This problem is stressing me out.

It is extremely annoying!

Best Answer

Yes!! That is what happens to mine. Its so frustrating!! It used to track great. Now its useless for tracking intense workouts. I have tried ALL the recommended fixes and none have helped long term. Fix this PLEASE!!

Best Answer

Me as well. Already at 12000 steps I average 21000 a day and activity minutes are show 1 to 3. Minutes a day.

Same here! The past two workouts I’ve had since the update, my heart rate has barely passed 100bpm, when I know it should be anywhere from 130-180. It’s very frustrating and seeing so many other people with the same issue, it seems to be an update problem!

Best Answer

They’ve had this info since the latest update was issued, so while it’s great that this latest batch of similar feedback is being passed along, what NOBODY from Fitbit is saying is what the plan of action to correct this will be.

if we as customers at least had a timeframe with regards to when we could expect an update to correct, we’d at least have something to look forward to.

At the moment, most of what many of us are doing is becoming increasingly frustrated and researching other brands of trackers.

Totally agree. Was really disappointed with the last moderators comments.

Totally agree, I’ve been put off buying another one for sure, as much as I loved it!

I'm having the same issue. Heart rate monitor shows 90 during an intense workout and it showed that I did 24 zone mins when I was reading a book.

To echo some other user’s experiences, I’ve noticed that besides my HR not being accurate during workouts, my resting HR has correspondingly been creeping up by about one or two BPM over the course of the last week or so.

Just so, so very frustrating and still not one peep from Fitbit/Google, either acknowledging the issues caused by the latest update or if there’s a plan for a fix besides giving everyone discounts to buy a new Fitbit.

I’d certainly entertain a new tracker — though my Versa 2 is only a few months old — but that new tracker will NOT be a Fitbit.

Best Answer

Completely agree. I’ve had problems in the past but they’ve sorted them relatively quickly and usually acknowledge the problem. Not this time. I actually checked my blood pressure the other day as was so concerned at what my Fitbit was saying with my heart rate!

Same with mine! I decided to put my old Charge 2 (the last reliable Fitbit I had) on the wrist opposite my Versa 2: at one point, I had Versa 2 85bpm, Charge 2 143bpm during a cardio burst in my circuit training. The Charge 2 mostly showed at least 20bpm higher. My Versa 2 is out of warranty (a year and two months old), so there’s no sense in submitting a ticket. I’ll just use the Charge 2 until I can replace it with an Apple Watch. I had similar problems with my Charge 3, so I have no faith in the new devices they’re putting out. I’m in software, so I get that it’s difficult, but basically bricking these things with each firmware update? This is ridiculous.

I’ve got an old one in the cupboard, think I’ll try that and see what the difference is! I won’t be replacing my current one, I couldn’t decide between it and an Apple Watch at the time but went for the versa. There will be no Fitbit next time.

I’m having the same issue. Been a Fitbit wearer for many years and know where and how to use is. HR monitor is not accurately tracking my heart rate. Please include me in any resolution communication.

To be honest, every update, I cringe and hope.  The results are generally worse than the way it was.  I have had my Versa 2 for a year and 2 months now and have given up trying to get help.  Example, I was doing a Hiit step workout the other day and I looked at my Fitbit and my heart rate was 57.  I have tried adjusting placement taking it back to default and starting over, shutting down watch and cell and restarting.  This is ridiculous.  Same workout finished and I was sitting down logging it and my heart rate was in the 80's.  It will go up during a warm up and then drops to nothing.  It does not sync well.  I generally have to shut the cell phone down to get the first sync which is usually steps.  Then I shut it down again and I may get the actual workout to sync.  This is my second Fitbit and I am researching for something else.  I am tired of it.  I won't get Apple because I refuse an apple cell phone.  If it does not make me happy using it, why keep a frustrating item.
