Versa 2 heart rate way too high

I replaced my Versa recently with a new Versa 2.  I am finding that every morning, while sitting in my recliner having coffee, that it thinks my HR is astronomically high, anywhere from 100 to 195.  I take it off, wait a bit, put it back on, and it starts reading again, instantly back to 55 or so.  I check a few minutes later, and it’s sky high again.  At first it seemed to be only doing that in the morning as I sat in my chair, but now it’s doing it more frequently, at random times.  I tried restarting it several times, to no avail.  I’m obviously getting very inaccurate calorie burn numbers now, which is rendering it useless.

Hi @jjnowak1980, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 is tracking high heart rate readings. I totally understand how you feel about this.

In order to fix this issue, please restart your Versa 2 as described in this help article. After this, make sure that your watch is not worn too tight. Finally, monitor your watch for the next 24 hours and see if it provides more accurate heart rate readings.

As a side note, I moved your post to the Versa 2 board in order to keep the forums organized.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Long story short, I was sent a new Versa 2.  The new one definitely does not spike as frequently as the defective one, however, I still on occasion notice that it does it.  The defective one was doing it throughout the day, every day, to the point where it was falsely raising my “calories burned”.  That’s not happening now, but I’m convinced the Versa 2 has an issue where it gets confused on occasion and reads an abnormally high HR.  Just the other day, while sitting down having dinner, I looked and it said my heart rate was 228!  Clearly that’s not possible, and it dropped back down a few seconds later.  I’d be interested to know if anyone else has caught their Versa 2 spiking.  Check your graphs in the heartbeat section of the app and see if you notice anything odd.

It might be arm movement. I have the same problem with mine so one day I was sitting there and started shaking my arm and it went sky high. I've also had it read astronomically high while  petting or brushing my dog. I'm starting to think  you can't believe anything this watch says anymore.
