Hi @Bubbyg  the Family Account is for children under 13 to set up their Fitbit Ace or Ace 2 devices  under the guidance of a parent or guardian. The only way you can set up a device other than the Ace series for an underage child is to lie about their age and set them up with their own account. This is due to laws across the world and not a rule set by Fitbit. In the USA, it's called COPPA. How old is she?

Lying about her age would create a problem since the algorithms are made based on gender, age, height and weight. So that would give completely wrong data for your child. Versa 2 is a very nice device but how is she at putting things down and remembering where she put it? Ten year olds are still children who misplace things and let others play with them. You could take the opportunity to get a Fitbit yourself and help your daughter, too.

@Bubbyg   It is a violation of Fitbit's Terms of Service to set up a fraudulent account.  Setting up an adult account for a child is a violation.

COPPA ( the US Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act) protects children from having their personal information available on the web.  All adult Fitbit accounts are web based.  The Family Account is app based. No personal data is available on the web.  Children who are under the age of digital consent cannot have adult accounts for the same reason they cannot have Facebook accounts.

Just like there are predators and fake accounts on Facebook, there are fake accounts on Fitbit.  Anyone can send your daughter a friend request in an adult account.  Anyone.

If you do make an adult account for your child, think about this.  What rules can your daughter break now that you have made this decision?
