Versa 2 iphone os Accuweather fails to save 2nd city

Versa 2 - weather apps seem to plague Fitbit.  Had Versa for 2 years and weather apps didn't work on it either.  Brand new Versa 2 - comes from Fitbit with preloaded accuweather app.  Default is temp in C. No problem, reset following myapps/weather/settings (gear icon).  Surprise, F is set. Interesting because Accuweather shows C at this point.

Go back to Accuweather app, ok, now shows F for 1st city.  So opening and closing app settings made it change to C.  Same process (myapps/weather/settings) add City 2.  Back to Accuweather app, ok shows 2nd (and 3rd) city.  All in F. Life is good, until.....

******The problem / bug / feature / opportunity is that the Accuweather settings are SAVED only as long as the Fitbit app is running in the background. If the App is closed, then the settings (F, City 2, City 3 ) are lost. I don't think having Fitbit 24/7 perpetually in the background in order to "Save" settings is a solution *****

Impression of what I've seen up the weather app: Lot easier to pull out my phone and look at the weather.... really, my weather can only be updated every 4 hours?  Why would I want to know the temperature at 8 am (5 F) when it is noon and it is not 30 F.    Not useful.

*****************  Support Team Process ************

Made sure of the following:

  • Location services must be set to "Always" for the Fitbit app.
  • All-day sync must be turned on in the Fitbit app.
  • Your watch and the Fitbit app are updated to the latest version.
  • There isn't any pending update for the Weather App in the App Gallery.
  • The Fitbit app must remain running in the background on your phone.

Although you may have tried some steps, please try one more time to remove your watch from the Bluetooth settings, turn off the Bluetooth on your iPhone and any other device nearby, reboot your phone, open the Fitbit app and sync your Versa 2. Once that is done, check the Weather app on your watch. Please note that it can take a few minutes to see the updated list of locations.

Juan -

no worries. events have been highly unusual

It seems that a o/s was pushed to my watch (or iphone??) that has fixed the problem for awhile, but I've since had to do a factory reset because the watch wasn't charging and after that reset haven't reloaded the weather, or set up Alexa. But I think it was working for awhile there.  So might again when I take the time to set the apps up again.  I'll post again if I do and whether it works.
