Versa 2 is counting floors climbed while riding in a car

Is anyone else having problems with their Versa 2 counting floors while in a car? I checked my stats today and found I had apparently climbed 40 floors. I live in a single story house and work in a single story office building. I guess it is counting the hills I drive up and down on my drive. Very annoying.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @adlyon. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Versa 2 is counting floors while riding in a car. Thank you for providing the additional details, I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help.

Your device uses both an accelerometer and altimeter to track floors, and registers a floor when detecting continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet. Your watch may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes.

If you want to remove the extra floors from your daily total, you can manually log the driving activity for the time you were in a vehicle. For more information see How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?

I really appreciate your feedback and time you took to let us know your frustration since this helps us to keep improving. For more information about the accuracy of Fitbit devices, see this help article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?
